I'M Powered offers four core service areas: (1) Counselling & Therapy — including individual, relationship, , depression, and anxiety counselling; (2) Life Coaching — for those feeling stuck, unclear, or unfulfilled; (3) Corporate Well-Being Sessions — workshops and programmes for organisations; and (4) Academic Training / Internship — for master's students in psychology.
The practice works with a wide range of concerns including: depression, anxiety (general, panic, social phobia), relationship struggles, family conflict, childhood trauma, self-esteem and self-confidence issues, stress and burnout, emotional dysregulation, adjustment issues, life transitions, and lifestyle and behavioural stressors.
Therapy typically addresses specific psychological concerns — anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties — and works with the emotional and behavioural roots of those concerns. Life coaching is more goal and future-oriented, helping clients gain clarity, direction, and momentum in personal or professional life(for people who don’t struggle with or have a disgnosed mental health concern but still need support in moving forward of gaining clarity.) At I'M Powered, both modalities are available and can be combined depending on what the client needs.
No. Many clients at I'M Powered come not because something is broken, but because they want to understand themselves better, work through patterns that are not serving them, or move towards a more intentional and fulfilling life. Therapy and life coaching are as much about growth as they are about healing.
A psychologist works through structured talking therapy — understanding patterns, processing emotions, and building coping skills. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose clinical conditions and prescribe medication where required. Many clients benefit from both. I'M Powered includes both counselling psychologists and consultant psychiatrists within its team, enabling integrated psychological and psychiatric care within the same practice — without the client needing to seek separate referrals. The Therapy Process
All services follow the same three-step process: Step 1 — a free 15-minute introductory call where the therapist takes a brief of your concern, explains the process, and answers your questions. Step 2 — a first paid session to establish rapport, share background, and collaboratively decide on the most beneficial approach. Step 3 — regular sessions over a period of weeks, during which improvements in thoughts, emotions, and behaviours begin to emerge.
No. I'M Powered offers a free 15-minute introductory call before your first paid appointment.(it is a brief call to answer queries, not a therapy session or consultation) This call allows you to understand the therapy process, ask any questions, and get a sense of the therapist — before making any commitment.
The first session is about getting to know you — your background, your concerns, and what you're hoping to achieve. There is no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with, and the pace is set by you. Most clients leave the first session feeling heard and clearer about their next steps. The free introductory call before the first session is specifically designed to ease any hesitation.
The number of sessions varies by individual and presenting concern. Typically it takes 3-6 months to see any substantaial change or develop insight, awareness and change.Regular follow-up sessions are recommended, and gradual improvement is typically observed over a few weeks of consistent work. The therapist will guide you on a realistic timeline during your first session.
Progress in therapy often shows up as gradual shifts — improved clarity, reduced emotional reactivity, healthier patterns in relationships, or a greater sense of agency in daily life. Your therapist will periodically check in on your goals and adjust the approach as needed. It's normal for the process to feel challenging at times before it feels easier. It’s a journey that you understake to understand more about yourself and bring about desired shifts and changes. Hence it takes time and small changes compound overtime. Therapy is not a quick fix or one size fits all.
Yes, this is common. Therapy often involves exploring difficult emotions, memories, or patterns that have been avoided. This can feel uncomfortable initially. It is a sign that the process is working, not that something is wrong. Your therapist will support you through this. Booking, Fees & Logistics
